Silk was born Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay Silk was an acclaimed actress, director and producer who also taught the course at St. Thomas University. Her parents were Peter, a distinguished academic. Anna recounts some of her earliest memories of existence when she would go to watch her mother perform in rehearsals for plays. Silk was a part of a variety of commercials as a child. The Bachelor in Arts was conferred to her by St. Thomas University, 1997. The early stage work she did involves at minimum two shows with Theatre St. Thomas: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk relocated from Toronto in the month of November 1999, to Los Angeles during the next decade. Seth Cooperman met Silk at an Actors Workshop in Los Angeles in 2007. In 2009 they were legally married in December of 2009. The couple renewed their vows on April 10, 2011, in Fredericton following the wedding, when the bride was converted to Judaism.
